Netflix to bring back “Firefly” in 2013
The 22 episode order comes after lengthy negotiations with “Avengers” director Joss Whedon, creator of the cult series that Fox famously canceled after only one season. The show’s mega DVD sales and fan following led negotiations with Joss Whedon and star Nathan Fillion, who has agreed to resume his role as Malcolm Reynolds. Production will take place during the summer season when Fillion’s network hit Castle is on hiatus. No word yet on the rest of the cast, but after the cancelation of Playboy, we know Sean Maher is available.
